The United Kingdom's Oldest Trademarks
In 1875, the Trade Marks Registration Act was passed which allowed formal registration of trade marks at the UK Patent Office for the first time. The Patent Office, now the Intellectual Property Office (UKIPO), continues to maintain registers of trademarks. These trademarks, along with accompanying registration details are available to the public to search and review online.
